This is one of my very favorite times of year--the Perseid Meteor Showers. Just like the song says, "The stars at night shine big and bright, deep in the heart of Texas," but this time every August, they shoot across the sky en masse, and not just here, all over the United States. So get ready with your wishes!
I love these seasonal shooting stars so much that they figure prominently in my second novel, Dead Copy and will make appearances in upcoming novels. In fact, I've gotten a lot of email about the significance of the stars in the romantic scenes.
So, get yourself a bourbon and Diet Coke, snuggle up with your honey and make some wishes! What do you wish for? Wish for something wild and you could win a Cauley tee-shirt, fresh off the printer!

Is this how we enter the contest? First of all, my parents and husband are AVID, AVID Bourbon and Diet Coke drinkers so I had to LOL at that comment on your post.
So, here's my wish: Because I absolutely love the phrase on the t-shirt you're giving away, my wish would be that I can wear that shirt and have the sentiment be true: That I will have a novel published so I can legitimately and proudly wear a t-shirt like that!
Yep, that's how you enter! And that's a good wish, Steph!

Okay, I want that tee shirt! Here's my wish. I wish I was finished with this stinkin' manuscript I'm writing...I wish it will be the best thing since A Brilliant Work of Staggering Genius...I wish I'd stop wishing so much and just finish the damn book!
Kit, this is also one of my fave times of year. Back in the day when I was a cocktail waitress, after our shifts we'd go out into the foothills in the Central Valley, drink swamp punch, play drums and dance under the showers.
My wish is the same as Steph's!
I also read your blog post on the Cauleyism's and it was hysterical. Both your books are in my towering TBR pile, but now that I finised the last Harry Potter (sob) they're a comin' on down.
Lu also has a wish; that I become a published author so his picture can be on my website just like Tahoe's:)
Congrats on kickin' butt these last few years.

Jodi! Tell me what's in Swamp Punch...this could become a new tradition in my neighborhood! One thing that's cool is a lot of the neighbors gather at Mansfield Dam to watch the stars together. We all bring beer, a coupa guys bring guitars, and if we know the songs, we all sing along :) Ya gotta love Austin!
Let me know how you like the books...
I wish for a contract offer from Kensington and one from an agent. Then I could fly among the atars.
Love your blog.
