My Cover Designs

I worked as a journalist and graphic designer at a major Texas newspaper when I got The Call, which started a nationwide book tour beginning at Book Expo in Washington DC.

Since then, I have designed bookmarks, postcards, magazine ads and other promotional material for authors, as well as designing my own e-book covers.

Portfolio

The price of cover design depends on three things: the number of images, time spent searching for images, and amount of PhotoShop work required.

Tier One

Each of these covers took multiple images and required several hours of PhotoShop work to meld the images together. If the client provides the images, or helps me find them. The cover for Aine was a collaboration for CreateSpace. The price ranges between $200 to $350.If I search for images on my own, $300 to $500.

Tier Two

Each of these covers took only one or two images provided by the client and two of them were collaborations. They required very little PhotoShop work. What makes them work? Layout and fonts. That’s why a great cover needs more than just a great image. It needs a good graphic designer to put it together. Prices for these covers range from $100 to $175.
